30 Campy Celebs Dress Up For Halloween

From Denny:  Check out what some of your funniest celebrities are wearing this Halloween!  Supermodel Heidi Klum should be crowned Queen of Halloween for her daring costumes that raise the threshold of the outrageous. (Though Martha Stewart is right up there, reigning supreme.  Check out her latest Halloween look.)

Halloween is one of her favorite holidays to indulge in some campy fun.  This year she was wheeled out on a gurney to the Halloween party - as a dead body.  She even sports two Halloween costumes this year.

Funny Actor Tom Hanks Does The TV Weather, Larry Crowne Movie Trailer

From Denny:  Funny actor Tom Hanks stopped in at the Spanish news network, Univision, to do more than Show 'N' Tell for his new movie. He and the weather newscaster danced their way through the weather cast. Total silliness and funny. The man loves his improv.

New movie "Larry Crowne" starts in theaters this weekend and features Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks. Check out the movie trailer below.

The Social Poets: State of the Economy, Oprah, College Grads, 2012 Election, Cartoons

The Social Poets: State of the Economy, Oprah, College Grads, 2012 Election, Cartoons: "From Denny: Today President Obama's political team demanded $60 million from high roller campaign donors in Chicago, to be delivered before the end of June. Uh, there isn't even anyone to face yet in the Republican camp. A little over reaching, don't you think?

2012 Presidential Campaign

But hey, Mitt Romney jumped up and officially announced he is running for president. In case you have followed so many of his flip-flops of where he stands or doesn't stand - on just about any issue - he is running on the Republican side of the political aisle. Not to be confused with a guy not born in Kenya by the name of Obama. :)"

Poems From A Spiritual Heart: Stephen Colbert Interviews Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg About Poetry

Poems From A Spiritual Heart: Stephen Colbert Interviews Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg About Poetry: "From Denny: While Stephen Colbert, of The Colbert Report, is known for his satire and wildly funny self, he does manage to do some almost serious interviews. In this case, Caroline Kennedy, daughter of President John F. Kennedy, is rolling out a book of poetry.

This book, 'She Walks In Beauty,' is comprised of men writing poems about women to celebrate them. The collection is about women celebrating themselves, describing the special connection women have to poetry from growing up in the world of emotion."

34 Oscars Celebs, Gowns, Hair, Gift Bags For 2011

Academy Award for Best Foreign Language FilmImage via Wikipedia
From Denny: There was so much hype for months about this year's Oscars that the winners were not much of a  surprise. Most people did not seem to think the hosts had much chemistry for this type of show. It is a difficult show to host for the most talented and experienced. You try making "And the winner is..." sound fresh and exciting every millionth time you say it. At some point it does make your eyes glaze over and your brain start to snooze. That's why I enjoy the red carpet fashion show, good or bad, just to liven up things!

I found a video clip about how to do some of the Oscar hair which was interesting, so take a look.  And there is another video about the gift bags this year for the "losers." Get this: these are $100,000 gift bags so the losers don't feel bad after they lose in front of millions of viewers.  Interesting is how many celebs "re-gift" their gift bags for charities to raffle off - like George Clooney for one.  What a great guy!

Here's the list of who won what:

Road to the Awards: Red Carpet Hair

Erin Andrews
Grade: B

ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews sported  a silver Kaufman Franco dress. Fashion critics gave this look an average grade.  The problem with wearing silver, beige, even white on the red carpet is that it does not photograph that well against all the busy background and the night.  Photographers end up using a flash which can wash out detail, causing the dress to look dowdy or uninspiring.  If we saw all these dresses in person we would probably think they are gorgeous.  Unfortunately, the camera does not record all the richness in detail and color depth that the human eye does.

17 Best Oscar Gowns Ever

Preparing for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards -...Image by popculturegeek.com via Flickr

From Denny: Oscar night is coming! Check out the truly best Oscar gowns seen on the red carpet over the years. Stunning stuff from some of Hollywood's most glamorous actresses. And learn a little Hollywood trivia while you are at it.

Sandra Bullock, 2010

Check out this awesome gold columned gown inspired by the gold column of the Oscar statue for which she won Best Actress.  Bullock portrayed real-life mom Leigh Anne Tuohy in "The Blind Side." Adored with metallic floral embroidery - which is difficult to work with - and some beautiful vintage beading as well, this was designed by Marchesa.

Music Video: Britney Spears Song Spoof - Hold It Against Me

Singer Britney Spears is the best selling fema...Image via Wikipedia

From Denny: Twitter is good for something. The guy who put up this video on YouTube contacted me. This is funny, so, what they hey! you enjoy too. I really need to spend less time on Twitter and YouTube... :) Yes, yet another Britney Spears song parody. And Saturdays are good days to enjoy a little satire.

Funny Lady Gaga Makes Grand Egg Entrance To Grammys

From Denny: Tonight Lady Gaga kept us laughing as she made her grand entrance to the Grammy Awards. She was encased in a giant egg, declaring she was "in incubation" in preparation for her Grammy ceremony performance. What a funny diva.

Gaga arrived on the famous red carpet carried inside an alien-looking dinosaur egg while carried royally aloft by attendants dressed in the appropriate diva gold. It was difficult to see her inside the egg. Gaga, now age 24, is competing for six awards tonight.

Remember the MTV Music Video Awards last September? Yeah, the really bizarre attention getter was when she donned a dress of ewwww! raw red meat. That stunt - and the "dress" - sure grabbed headlines.

As to tonight's entrance she tweeted from the red carpet: "This is Nicola, Haus of Gaga: Gaga is in incubation. Tonight's performance is in collaboration with Hussein Chalayan and House of Mugler. X"

Lady Gaga is expected to perform her new single "Born This Way" live on the Grammys stage later tonight.

What Lady Gaga has to say about her outrageous outfits and their inspiration:

"There's nothing that I've ever put on my body that I didn't understand where it came from, the reference of it, who inspired it. There's always some sort of a story or a concept that I'm telling."

As to her song writing (bad) habits, she admits she smokes weed and drinks whiskey when composing. Gaga says she has come to realize that doing so isn't so good for her voice so she tries not to do it too often.

She says she does not encourage her fans to do the same. "I don't want to encourage kids to do drugs... and I don't lie. I'm not a liar. I built good will with my fans. They know who I am. And I'm just like them in so many ways."

Kate Middleton And Camilla Do Lunch: Publicly

Prince Harry and Kate Middleton at the Garter ...Kate Middleton Image by Niquinho via Flickr

From Denny: Talk about a staged event. Only the British. They love to eavesdrop so Kate and Camilla gave them what they wanted so badly. They lunched publicly in a posh hotel, knowing they would be overheard.

This is all quite amusing. When one diner happily reported they overheard part of the conversation it was quoted as this: Camilla, "If I could give you one piece of advice." And Kate quipped, "What do I do if William does not show up?"

Of course, this two-some started all the Queen Talk all over again. After Princess Diana was killed, the Brits were not too keen on Camilla becoming Queen one day. Apparently, that mood has softened over the years since her marriage into the royal family. Just goes to show you that time - and a whole lot of growing up and adjusting to public expectations - can tilt in your favor.

Any way you look at this incident, these two have a cheeky sense of humor.

Funny Comic Betty White Gets Her Own Calendar

*** Check out what comic Betty White is doing now! The woman is on the move!

From Denny: Actress Betty White has been in show business for longer than most of us have been alive yet she continues to amaze everyone who sees her. She is advancing to age 89 this year but somehow she just doesn't age. A great sense of humor and her dazzling smile and excellent timing with a ready rapier wit have made her popular with yet a new generation of admirers.

She thrived on Saturday Night Live where she made several appearances. White holds the record for the oldest person to host the show. Betty hosted the show after a big push from groups on facebook where she was a huge success.

Betty has yet another show in which she co-stars, called "Hot In Cleveland" which airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. Eastern and 9 p.m. Central.

Today she is totally the "It Girl" status because her latest endeavor is that she is sporting her own calendar. Rush right out and purchase one for 2011. The calendar is supposed to include some lovely beefcake-type shirtless men posing alongside her just to keep things spicy. Some of the photos are archival while others pose her with animal friends since she is quite the animal lover.

Betty White serves as a trustee for the Morris Animal Foundation and it is to this foundation that her royalties for the calendar will go. The Betty White Calendar costs $12.99 and will go on sale in September 2010. I predict a huge sell out and major re-printings! :)

Check out some glamorous photos of the actress through the decades in this photo gallery:

News and Dance Videos: Actor Patrick Swayze Passes Away

From Denny: Well, we all knew it was coming as pancreatic cancer is one of the most deadly forms of cancer. It was a miracle he lived as long as he did after diagnosis. Most patients don't make it past three months; Swayze soldiered on for another two years which is quite amazing.

I always enjoyed his dancing and he was a great guy, loved by his fellow actors as much as by the public. Here are some of the headlines about him:

To watch the rest of the group dance, of course, the profit makers disabled all the Swayze dance videos, so go to this YouTube link.

Patrick Swayze danced his way through life, into our hearts, made us laugh, gave us a lot of joy and danced on into Heaven. Rest in Peace and our prayers are with your wife and family...

Video: Kennedys New Memoir Offers Surprise Stories to Sons

From Denny: Senator Ted Kennedy's new memoir book is out: True Compass. I am surprised to learn this is the only memoir actually written by a Kennedy! The Senator worked hard to finish this book in his last days and did not want it released until after his death.

Here The Today Show's Matt Lauer interviews the two sons of Ted Kennedy:

This video is from 3 Sept and gives the highlight recap news clips of many of the best videos coverage of the passing of Ted Kennedy:
