A Truth Journal: POW Bowe Bergdahl: 8,000 Afghan-Iraq War Deserters. Why Is America Attacking THIS One?

A billboard calling for the release of U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, held for nearly five years by the Taliban after being captured in Afghanistan, is shown in this picture taken near Spokane, Washington on February 25, 2014. REUTERS/Jeff T. Green

A Truth Journal: POW Bowe Bergdahl: 8,000 Afghan-Iraq War Deserters. Why Is America Attacking THIS One?: From Denny:  Maybe the headline should be:  "Do Terrorists Win?  The Perplexing Vicious Bullying of POW Bowe Bergdahl."  For almost two months I've been working to write this post but have found myself shocked, dismayed, downright apoplectic - and practically speechless - at the savage, malicious, downright evil attacks against Bowe Bergdahl.  So much for the loyalty to the American philosophy of "Leave No One Behind."  In this case it should read: "Leave No One Behind Unless It's Convenient To Use Them For Political Advantage [2016 election] And Avoid Prosecution For War Crimes."

Yes, I am still that furious at the attackers of a returning POW who experienced pure Hell for a very long five years.  So, I took a serious time out to watch before commenting to see how things played out since I knew it was the political hacks - and - highly suspect - most likely some very guilty platoon mates from Bergdahl's outfit - who were driving these attacks...

A Truth Journal: Save The Economy: How Prez Obama Can Push GOP to Settle Sequestration Now

Sequestration - How Would it Impact the Everyday Lives of Americans?

A Truth Journal: Save The Economy: How Prez Obama Can Push GOP to Settle Sequestration Now: From Denny:  As usual Washington is frustrating the country - and the world markets - with its typical bickering and jockeying for dominant position on the latest issue.  The American people want our politicians to solve the problems of the country.  The politicians and their lobbyist handlers are in opposition, pushing only their own agendas.

Too many in Congress are privately talking about allowing the Sequestration to go through with the deep cuts - for several months until at least June or July.  They want to see how loudly the public howls about their economic pain of not receiving paychecks and then forced to empty their savings accounts to pay bills.  Are you kidding me?  Who are these Bozos?

The Social Poets: The Whole Truth, Funny Jon Stewart On VP Joe Bidens Wall Street Financial Slavery Speech

The Social Poets: The Whole Truth, Funny Jon Stewart On VP Joe Bidens Wall Street Financial Slavery Speech: From Denny:  Me thinks the conservative media doth protest too much.  Yep, they sure are laying it on thick for VP Papa Joe Biden's accurate comment about how the middle and working classes are chained into financial slavery because of the Big Banks and Big Business corporations that are clearly still out of control.

Since this is a nasty presidential campaign where all name-calling and outright lying is utilized by the GOP campaign in particular, they thought they could win some brownie points going after Affable Joe.

Yeah, like that silly attack stuck.  The man sports a Teflon suit, always has and always will.  He's been that popular with regular people - and Teflon fashionable for decades as a real public servant.

The media that jumps on him are the Lapdog Press - and political strategists - owned outright by the likes of the consummate puppeteers:  greedy billionaires like the Koch Brothers and Fox "News" Rupert Murdock.  Hollow opinions from the disingenuous contain no merit and certainly carry no weight with the voters, especially the elderly that trust Biden on issues like Medicare.

The Social Poets: GOP Plans To Axe Food Stamps For Over 150 Million Americans

The Social Poets: GOP Plans To Axe Food Stamps For Over 150 Million Americans: From Denny:  Over 46 million households in America depend upon the food stamp benefits program to put enough food on the table to feed their families.

If each household is a family of four then you are looking at maybe as many as 184 million Americans.  That is over half to two-thirds of America in need of help to eat each day.  No one said it meant three meals a day either.

It does not seem to matter to the GOP and Congress that these same Americans have contributed as taxpayers to support these programs.  Now, the unthinkable for the majority of them is to draw food stamps benefits.  They have no choice; the economy is that bad.

Many active duty military to retirees use $100 million in food stamps benefits.  Are the Republicans just out of control crazy to do this to them and the rest of America?  What is wrong with these people?

The Social Poets: Caustic Christians Promoting Hate Endorsed By GOP Candidates

Rick Santorum

The Social Poets: Caustic Christians Promoting Hate Endorsed By GOP Candidates: From Denny:  A Louisiana pastor, affiliated with the Rush Limbaugh Hate Merchant class, introduced Rick Santorum at his church when the Republican campaigned here in my town of Baton Rouge.

Of course, my fellow Democrats across the nation erupted in outrage.  I yawned at the fist-pounding rhetoric reminiscent of Nikita Khrushchev pounding his shoe against President Kennedy in the 1960's.  Apparently, shoe slapping is a popular anger release in many cultures.

The Social Poets: Breaking: ALL Rush Ads Suspended. 140 Advertisers Abandon Limbaugh, Conservative Hosts Too: From Denny:  Breaking news at 9:00 PM:  ALL national advertising for the Rush Limbaugh show has been suspended.

There is nothing like a woman scorned.  American women are fed up with the mean-spiritedness of GOP talk show hosts aimed squarely at all women.

During the past two weeks women, all across the nation, took measures to let national advertisers know loud and clear they will not purchase their products.  Utilizing social media, the internet and blogging proved to be quite effective for a relentless campaign in real time.

The Social Poets: GOP Slut and Pervert Rush Limbaugh Labels ALL Women Sluts

The Social Poets: GOP Slut and Pervert Rush Limbaugh Labels ALL Women Sluts: From Denny: The latest stupidity from the so-called GOP Intellectual Corner comes from talk show host Rush Limbaugh labeling women as sluts and prostitutes for taking birth control. His current insult is his constant railing against any woman who stands up for her rights.

From his point of view, "How dare women think they are allowed to be first class citizens in their own country? Why should women be allowed to make their own decisions, especially about birth control?"

OK, that was the polite version. This guy is as nutty as Glenn Beck that went into a slow motion dive of a psychotic breakdown on TV. It went on for months. Must we all be witness to the same losing his mind process of watching Limbaugh implode? He should be taken off the air and quickly. His mind is already cooked.

The Social Poets: 2012 GOP Taliban: Politically Clueless Gaffes

The Social Poets: 2012 GOP Taliban: Politically Clueless Gaffes: From Denny: What a week. The comics could not ask for better material. It was handed to them on a silver platter. And the Obama White House aides are dancing in the halls because they cannot believe their good fortune.

Don't get cocky, guys, it might not last. Besides, there are always the fast rising fuel prices to torpedo what you thought was an easy win.

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Political Thought About Romney

Mitt Romney - Caricature
Mitt Romney - Caricature (Photo credit: DonkeyHotey)

The Social Poets: Im Just Saying: Funny Political Thought About Romney: From Denny: Since I could care less who wins or who loses the GOP race for president, I'm free to mock it in style.

At our house we were watching the GOP primary returns for the last three states of Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri. Much to everyone's surprise it was the non-candidate Santorum that ran away with two of the races.

Though delegates were not awarded it is Santorum that has basically caught up with front-runner Mitt Romney by about 86 for Santorum to 94 delegates for Romeny. The winner needs about 700 to win.

Santorum, a Catholic, has sharpened his message to be known as the middle class guy and conservative. Romney is painted as the rich guy who is out of touch.

Lately, since getting trounced in the last race Romney is working hard to overcome the perception by portraying himself as a sensitive guy. He even laid claim to being a Mormon minister for 10 years and how he truly understands the unemployed and marital difficulties as a result of not being able to pay your bills.

So, here is my I'm Just Saying:

The Social Poets: Funny 2012 Election Late Nite Jokes and Videos

Moneybomb advertising often makes use of inver...

The Social Poets: Funny 2012 Election Late Nite Jokes and Videos: From Denny: With the holiday season yesterday's news, it's time to catch up on the hilarious jokes from the late night comics about the GOP candidates and their utterly lame "debates." These are all the jokes from December 2011 and half of January 2012.

As the political season wears on - and wears out the goodwill of the public - the jokes will only get sharper as the political attacks get nastier. Put on your hockey face mask as the Zingers are about to get hurled at you from every angle during the next 11 months.

All the major news networks are now calling for some serious fact-checking on those GOP claims pooped out onto the airwaves.

You know it's really bad when the mainstream news starts complaining about the very guys who buy the ads on their networks that they encouraged to behave so badly in the first place. Do you think it might have something to do with the fact the majority of the public is not paying attention to those silly debates?

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Mocks Herman Cain Sexual Prowess

Jon Stewart
Jon Stewart (Image via RottenTomatoes.com)
The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Mocks Herman Cain Sexual Prowess: From Denny: Leave it to Jon Stewart and The Daily Show comedy crew to lampoon yet another political sexual whodunit. In fact, Jon Stewart is praying Herman Cain does not quit the race. He is the satire gift that keeps on giving in the season of Too Much Jolly.

Jon questions Herman Cain's excessive denials of knowing but not knowing - in the biblical sense - the parade of women across the 2012 GOP election stage.

He also challenges Cain's concept of sex. Like how can you conduct a 13-year-old affair without having any sex? Who ever heard of a 13-year-long platonic affair? Better yet, who ever heard of paying off women with whom you never had sex? Does that make any sense?

Jon postulates that Cain must be the worst guy in bed, the worst liar or the worst at getting lucky. Anyway you look at it he sure isn't presidential material for this country. We like our leaders to be virile and capable of sealing the deal. After all, what kind of lousy negotiator would Herman Cain be with another world leader if he can't even get sex in a 13-year-old affair?

The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Screams and Laughs at Pat Robertson Mocking GOP

Jon StewartJon Stewart (Image via RottenTomatoes.com)The Social Poets: Jon Stewart Screams and Laughs at Pat Robertson Mocking GOP: From Denny: If you missed the latest Pat Robertson incredulous statement, not to worry. Jon Stewart saved the juicy clip for all to see.

How timely it is during the GOP political debating season of stupid issues and stupid political positions while Rome is burning. Which is exactly what Pat Robertson, of the Moral Majority 700 Club, addresses.

I don't know which is funnier: Jon's reaction to a sane statement from Pat Robertson that could not be more true about just how ridiculous the Republican Party has become or actually hearing with your own ears what Pat Robertson declared to his own party. It's a case of a looney tune calling his party a bunch of lunatics.

The Social Poets: Funny Jon Stewart, Colbert React to Republican Debates

The Social Poets: Funny Jon Stewart, Colbert React to Republican Debates: From Denny: Only Jon Stewart could dissect this crazy GOP line-up, revealing true agendas. When he goes after Michele Bachmann for her idea of mothering it sure is a left field what she says.

You expect her to comment on how raising five biological children and 23 foster children she would opine upon parenting skills in the area of how they needed lots of love and daily structure. Nope. What she says is "children need jobs." No kidding.

What I found most disheartening about her quote about children of poverty - from a over a year ago - is when she commented about how the poor should raise themselves up on their own, without government help - ever.

"Hunger is a great motivator." From that day forward I always wondered if she had starved any of those foster children to force them to do what she demanded.

The Social Poets: Darth Vadar VP Cheney Crosses Bush In New Book

Alex Brandon / AP
Alex Brandon/AP

The Social Poets: Darth Vadar VP Cheney Crosses Bush In New Book: From Denny: Former VP Dick Cheney is out to settle the score with his former boss, President Bush 43. Cheney, often likened to the villain in Star Wars, Darth Vadar, is best known for his reputation as the GOP hatchet man. He is also now literally the man with no heart. What beats inside his chest is a mechanical heart. He plugs himself into the electrical outlet every night. Talk about the creep factor.

In this news clip he contradicts Bush's account of how it happened when he and Bush made the decision to go into Iraq. Yeah? Well, what I remember is the New York Times article back in August of 2001 - before the terrorist attack - detailing how the Pentagon had plans to go into Iraq. That article also discussed how Bush and Cheney told the Pentagon to dust off the plan, take it off the shelf and put it into action. Somehow, that little factoid has escaped public attention all these years.

The Social Poets: Arrest GOP Rep, Cantor For Manipulating Treasury Bond Market During Debt Talks?

Speaker Boehner, left, Whip Cantor, right, photo by Alex Wong, Getty Images

The Social Poets: Arrest GOP Rep, Cantor For Manipulating Treasury Bond Market During Debt Talks?: "From Denny: Talk about scummy politics. The Dylan Ratigan Show was reporting this week about how Congressman Eric Cantor, R-VA, is betting against the American, even the world, economy.

Remember when he threw a huge hissy fit and stormed out of the debt ceiling budget talks with top Congressional leaders led by VP Joe Biden? Something about that move was so calculated and sure stuck in my memory. Well, it wasn't long before the Universe intersected me with the Information Explanation.

Turns out that Cantor bought shorts in the stock market, betting the Treasury bond prices would go down as a result of the breakdown in debt ceiling talks. So, let me see if I understand this correctly. A top political leader, the number two guy in the House of Representatives, declares the debt ceiling talks are at an impasse."

The Social Poets: Wisconsin: Voters Slap Down GOP, Female Dark Horse Wins State Supreme Court Seat

The Social Poets: Wisconsin: Voters Slap Down GOP, Female Dark Horse Wins State Supreme Court Seat: "An obscure election got the royal treatment from activists and voters. Voters so hated Gov. Scott Walker's controversial anti-union initiatives they came out in droves to defeat a GOP incumbent for the Wisconsin Supreme Court. The surprise dark horse vote came for Democrat unknown JoAnne Kloppenburg, down by an astounding 30 points right before the election. She is a state attorney general with support from several unions.

Election officials tallied her win at a razor thin 235 votes over the GOP incumbent of 12 years, Justice David Prosser, who is known to be sympathetic toward Gov. Walker's policies. Prosser had come out of his primary with a 55 percent vote win. Kloppenburg was second of four candidates with only 28 percent of that primary vote. Prosser was expected to experience an easy runaway win - that fizzled because of unusually high voter turnout."

Unsexy, Unpopular and Unflattering Political Cartoons - 3 Apr 2010

From Denny: Politics and the economy sure are wearing on people. On top of that all these new sex abuse scandals in the religious sector has people hopping mad and the cartoonists along with them.

Religious Sex Scandal Cartoons

Then there is the bombardment from the negative conservatives in this country: Conservative Republican politics joined at the hip with talk radio and flooding the airwaves with lies, deception and hate propaganda. There statistics are that 91% of talk radio is conservative hate talk and only 9% is progressive or liberal. So, who do you think is winning the war on "the hearts and minds" of the average guy? Hmmmm, a lot of weak minds out there who can't resist being programmed to believe obvious lies.

Yet with the bondage sex club scandal and other sex scandals from the national Republicans people actually are still funding these guys - to do it again! Where does the negativity, emotional stupidity and enabling end?

The same could be said of the Catholic Church. Well, at least one piece of good news in Europe. Austria is a country that has been rife with sexual abuse and pedophilia for centuries. When I visited there I certainly heard plenty from local Austrian women about how much they hated Austrian men, especially the fathers, brothers, uncles and cousins who abused them. It was shocking to hear just how much it was tolerated.

In light of the current garbage spewed out by the Catholic Church to enable the pedophile priests there is a Bishop of Vienna, Austria, who challenges that notion. He is demanding validation and healing for the abuse victims and a change of course in the Church. Well, at least one man has the courage to stand up against the establishment.

Follow him for the next few months and it will be interesting to see if he gets recalled to Rome and stripped of his authority. Hopefully, that won't happen. He represents those good priests who are doing right by their authority and looking out for the people and children. Unfortunately, Pope Benedict's arrogant refusal to purge the Church of this true perversion of goodness - which is evil by any definition - tarnishes the reputation of the quality priests doing good work.

The Pope's constant defense of "The Business" rather than attention placed upon true spiritual development is driving people away from God. What the frustrated, disappointed and angry people should be doing is walking away from organized religion that is corrupt like the current Catholic Church. These abuse charges are nothing new and have continued for centuries, helping to cause the Protestant Reformation.

Looks like the Catholic Church as we know it is now toast. On a spiritual level, the Church has already fractured and broken off. Expect the "Roman" part of Catholic Church to disappear from the title except in Italy. Things will evolve into each country's centralization of the Church, each country or continent with its own Pope. Rome as the center of the religious world to govern one billion church members is cooked. Put a fork in them because they are done. God has been trying to discipline them for the past 50 years and each time they spit on Him. When you spit on little children you are spitting on God in my book.

Moving on to President Obama's waning popularity it was to be expected with the long drawn out drama from this health care mess of which the Democrats did an horrendously bad job of selling to the public. Too much foot dragging, not enough countering of lying media and not enough factual information put out there on a continual basis as the legislation was fought. If the Democrats had any sense they would have mobilized all the liberal and progressive bloggers.

The CBS polls in regard to the President's popularity as well as other issues do tend to poll older Republican voters as opposed to fewer Democrats. The CBS demographic is elderly and older Baby Boomers. I'd like to see an NBC poll as NBC News is more female oriented and a cross section of ages. You often discover gross misrepresentation from the media when you go to read the internals of the polls - how the questions were framed. It's obvious the questions were set up to predict a particular outcome to please who was bank-rolling the poll. That fact explains why two polls about the President's popularity produced strikingly different results.

In spite of that, President Obama needs to get a grip on his weak campaign to constantly court and therefore enable the Republicans to screw over the middle class in this country. That is the heart of the anger in this country - how the Republicans so broke our government and economy and continue to defend those criminal actions that our lives continue to have surprise problems hitting us from every angle.

Now President Obama proposes extra oil drilling off American shores? Is he allowing them to go for the continental shelf? Has the Democratic Party so quickly forgotten the damage done to Louisiana, especially New Orleans, by the oil and natural gas companies? It's the very reason for the excessive flood damage from Hurricane Katrina. And now you are going to allow the same damage up and down the Atlantic coast? Are you crazy???

Oh, by the way, Mr. President, did you at least broker a good deal for the middle class from the oil companies and Wall Street to quit artificially inflating prices at the gas pump? Do you know how to play political hardball and slam back the serve to Big Business? Big Business and Wall Street are lucky I didn't become President because I would be hell on wheels with Speaker Pelosi looking like the sweetness Tooth Fairy.

Mr. President, you are simply not "leading from the front" and taking the best care of the American people. Get on the job and quit talking about an "A" game and get serious about walking the talk. And, if you don't know how to get more bills passed in the Senate, go seek out former Senator Tom Daschle who does understand. Quit allowing the tail to wag the dog, start barking and take a bite out of these nasty junkyard dogs who are killing the soul of the American people. There is no simply no excuse for the fact that Speaker Pelosi passed 291 bills and the Senate passed only one. Take care of the American people; quit talking and start doing.

The Republicans have never been the answer for America when it comes to quality of life or good government. The Democrats had better not sit down on their laurels thinking what they have done so far is enough. In my book you are still far behind the starting line without much of anything to show for your time in office.

The public is justifiably angry they have an unresponsive government, slow to react on major issues. You can't keep up a two front war and expect the public treasury to continue to bail out the economy every time. You passed weak credit card legislation and for the past 18 months the Big Banks have raped the wallets of the American people, good accounts along with the bad. Big Banks continue to take cheap money from the federal government and plunk it down on their bottom line, refusing to even fund car loans for the average person or help small businesses. Your mortgage loan relief fizzled because you did not pay attention to details and administer it correctly.

You took 18 months before you finally worked up the nerve to decide to finally fill needed government positions as recess appointments. How can you work without a government in place? What or who are you afraid of - what the whining Republicans might say? Who cares what they say about anything? They are going to lie about it every time. They have already been found in lie after lie.

Insurance companies continue to raise premiums beyond the average person's ability to pay. They even have the nerve to crow on the rooftops about how the current health care law will not set back their profits. CEOs on Wall Street continue to receive billion dollar bonuses. Where is the change, Mr. President? Where is the change?

You have no time to waste before the November elections, Mr. President. Get busy and lasso Big Business. While you are at it it's time to break up the Big Banks into smaller regional banks. If you are unwilling to break up the monopoly banks then nationalize the rat bastards because they are doing no good to the economy and no longer truly serving the people. You could also allow the smallest banks the same borrowing privileges as the current monopoly banks enjoy and you will see a lot of the middle class's issues melt away quickly. America needs positive change.
