From Denny:  What a glamorous event!  And what a feast for the eyes were all those gorgeous dresses paraded all over the stage.  Even the presenters looked awesome.

Check Out The Winners For Each Category

Claire Danes won Best Actress in a Series, Miniseries, or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role in HBO’s Temple Grandin. Danes said she expressed a bit of the child in her with her dress pick. "It was the 6-year-old in me,” she said of why she chose a hot pink Calvin Klein collection gown. “Sometimes a girl just wants to wear pink.” This is Danes’ second Globe award. Previously she won for My So Called Life at age 15.

Chris Colfer won the Best Supporting Actor in a Series award for his role as Kurt Hummel on Glee.  He said he knew the exact song to describe his winning moment: "'I'm So Excited' by the Pointer Sisters!"  What a sense of humor.

Christian Bale

"It was a great surprise to win but I also had no idea that it was the first award of the night, so I really was shocked!"  He wore a Dolce & Gabbana suit.  Bale  won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role in The Fighter.

Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz

Glee’s Amber Riley (gown by Oliver Tolentino) and Jenna Ushkowitz (gown by Rebecca Taylor) joked around that they had a fashion feud backstage after their show’s win for Best Series. "We can't get too close,” Riley said. “We aren't feuding of anything, it's just that I'm wearing sequins and she's wearing that netting. If we got too close it could get nasty.”

Naya Rivera and Dianna Agron

Glee stars Naya Rivera (gown by Douglas Hannant) and Dianna Agron (beige silk chiffon gown by J. Mendel) celebrated their show’s Best Series award. Agron said she was unprepared to hear the show’s name called as the winner. “My dress was getting tangled in my shoes and I was thinking, 'It's ok, we're not going to win,' I was about to take my shoes off! But to win again was amazing."

The Glee Cast

The Glee cast were deliriously happy pack when the show took the number one spot in the Best Television Series for Comedy or Musical category. Jayma Mays (gown by Alberta Ferretti), Cory Monteith (by Giorgio Armani) and Heather Morris (gown by Lorena Sarbu) clutched their shiny new Golden Globes and grinned silly backstage..

Colin Firth

When asked about his reaction to winning the Best Actor in a Motion Picture for his role in The King's Speech he said, "I honestly think I blacked out. I do remember kissing my wife, which will make for a pretty nice memory."

Paul Giamatti won Best Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical winner for his role in Barney’s Version and commented he could have used a seat at The Social Network table. "Honestly, I don't even know what Facebook looks like or how any of that works," when we asked what his Facebook status would be after his winning moment. "I won. I'm going to In 'N Out."

Melissa Leo

"I just remember everything went silent," said Melissa Leo (gown by Marc Bouwer). She  remembered the exact moment her name was called as Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Fighter. "Though I'm really proud of the work I did, having heard the names of the other women nominated I really didn't think they were going to call my name. So I was just sitting there and then I thought, 'Oh, this is a television show and I should probably stand up and get moving!'"

Jim Parsons

His winning moment for Best Actor in a Television Series, Comedy or Musical was sweetened when he was handed the award by one of his Big Bang Theory co-stars, Kaley Cuoco. "Winning and then walking towards the stage knowing she was up there waiting to present the award to me... I just told her that for the rest of my career I'll never have another moment like that. It means so much that the whole cast is here to share this."

Katey Sagal

As Katey Sagal (gown by Douglas Hannant) accepted her Best Actress in a Drama award for her role in Sons of Anarchy. She remarked how she found herself saying hi to some of the people in the room. It was so unexpected. "As I was walking to the stage I saw Johnny Depp.  We were both on the Fox network about 20 years ago. As I walked by, I yelled out 'Hi Johnny!' and gave him a little wave. He probably has no idea who I am."

The dresses are what the audience wants to see as much as the actors and the awards, sometimes more:  "What were they wearing?" is the usual buzz for an event like this.  The 2011 Spring fashion was all about bold colors like melon, red, sapphire blue, three shades of emerald green and many shades of pink from blush to honeysuckle to fuchsia.  Here's a rundown of dress descriptions:

Scarlett Johansson: a beautiful beaded pale peach chiffon gown by Elie Saab

Natalie Portman: baby bump enjoyed a satin gown by Viktor + Rolf

Heidi Klum:  wild fun colors of pink, cream and copper mashup gown by Marc Jacobs

January Jones: wore a stunning crimson gown by Versace

Kyra Sedgwick: flashed a flowing marigold gown by Emilio Pucci

Anne Hathaway: dazzled all in a sequined bronze sheath by Giorgio Armani Privé

Dianna Agron: another dazzler like an Old Hollywood siren in a beaded, blush chiffon gown by J. Mendel

Emma Stone: wore a minimal bold sherbet shaded T-shirt sheath from the Calvin Klein Collection

Elisabeth Moss: looked glamorous in a modern hunter green strapless gown by Donna Karan

Catherine Zeta-Jones: what a sweeping entrance she made in a textured emerald ball gown by Monique Lhuillier

Jane Fonda: as a presenter she wore a sharp-shouldered gown by George Hobeika, embellished with gold and silver sequins
