From Denny: Since I have a number of readers from Poland I thought you might enjoy checking out this guy's site. He is a friendly, smart guy who writes well in English so anyone can enjoy his unusual blog. He teaches beginner mountain climbing.
What I like about his blog is that from a spiritual or writing perspective it really is a metaphor for life as he teaches how to overcome obstacles that seem immovable! An enjoyable read worth the time to visit again and again. To visit his blog, Himalman's Weblog, go here.
Added him to the The Social Poets Fav Bloggers blog roll list so you have a permanent link to find him. He is also linked on The Social Poets Fav Links under the Travel section.

From Denny: To The Social Poets Fav Links blog I hit a gold mine recently! Have added another 19 sites as well as adding 2 more original poem links. Newly created a section of links for all the Libations Friday! posts, complete with descriptions. I'm really starting to get the hang of this blogging organization! :) (Well, eventually...)

My Cats, Their Names, and What They Made Me Call Them Instead
"In this hub:
Ah, cats (sigh)
On naming your cats
His Royal Highness wants to go by something else
Our favorite cat mysteries
Kao K'o Kung
Mistaken Gender and embarassed cat
Cats are finicky creatures. We've all heard that. We've all experienced that. Cats also feel and know more than many give them credit for. Any cat lover will tell you they are as bright as they are ornery.
It's the little things in life that they choose to notice. They are opinionated, so you can be sure that you will in one way or another find out what they think about the things that matter most to them.
One thing I've learned over the years, sometimes the hard way, is that one of the keys to getting a cat to respond to you properly is giving it the right name. That comes through trial and error."

From Denny: Most people are currently - or in the past have been - owned by cats. You will enjoy this humor writer who has a lot to say on the subject and process of naming a cat the proper name. Enjoy the reading romp for a good laugh!

Quotes Inspire graphic photo by Denny Lyon. You are free to use this photo - with attribution and a link back to The Social Poets!
From Denny: It's odd how when you go back through your posts you see a theme develop over time. So, I culled some posts from my quotes blog about really interesting quotes I found so good they elicited commentary and various musings!
There really is something cool going on as you are led through the readings, very meditative and thought-provoking. Sure made me think deep; maybe it will benefit you as well!
